Laura Romanik has loved dogs ever since she can remember, even though as a child she was allowed to live with one (a black Labrador Retriever) for only a short time. She was always fascinated with dogs, and especially with the idea of communicating with them and training them. Her fascination was sidelined for a while when she was going to college at Michigan State University for a Bachelaor's degree in Computer Science, then with her first job as a computer programmer, apartment living, meeting and marrying Ken, etc. When they settled into a house, Laura immediately got her first dog, a Sheltie, and got involved in Obedience training and competing. She has been hooked on the sport ever since.
After working as a programmer for 22 years, mostly in the automobile industry, Laura made a career change to open Radiant Competitive Obedience. At RCO Laura is dedicated to sharing her love of dog training with others as she helps them to prepare for Obedience & Rally Competition. Laura's students have earned titles from Beginner Novice to Obedience Trial Championships in Obedience, and all the way through Rally Advanced Excellent in Rally. She is extremely proud of each and every one of her students and considers that the relationship forged through training between a human and a beloved canine companion to be the biggest accomplishment of all.
